這是一個真實的中國工人實況紀錄片，每天都在廣大的神州大地發生。千千萬萬中國勞工，在惡劣環境下，長時間辛勞工作，只賺了很少的錢，卻製造高價產品，輸往歐美各地。紀錄片描述三位女孩，包括主角小莉，和同工小蘭等人的故事。小莉從家鄉陝西，獨個兒往廣東闖天下，到了東莞沙溪鎮一家由澳門人開設的牛仔褲工廠當剪線頭女工。小莉每天工作十多個小時，收入微薄，每天只得數美元，首月工資還被扣起作「按金」。工人居住在十二人一家房的狹小碌架床位，十二人共用一個廁所。工人每朝八時前必須打卡報到，否則會被扣工資。紀錄片也訪問林姓...
