Segundo López

The filmmaking debut of Ana Mariscal, who, by then, had had an important career as an actress in theater and film, was a bold move in 1950s’ Spain, in more than one sense—being a woman behind the camera, financing her first film with her own production company and, above all, depicting the lives of the popular classes of postwar Madrid without euphemisms. With sensitivity and humor, Segundo López, aventurero urbano tells the story of a man who, after receiving a very modest inheritance, moves to the capital. There, in a world of go-getters, he will do whatever it takes to survive in a devastated city. With echoes from Italian neorealism, Mariscal’s first film connects with the tradition of a cinema committed to the truth. 　　源自：https://www.mardelplatafilmfest.com/38/en/pelicula/segundo-lopez-aventurero-urbano
