安琪儿剧团在李宪臣的干涉下被驱逐出境，小霞被带回家，因不肯听从父亲的安排，被关进小屋受到虐待。小鸥不愿再在军阀的淫威下生活，去广东参加了革命军。剧团离开后，城里传出了关于一个神秘黑衣人的异闻，据说此人行踪诡秘且出手极为凶残。而黑衣人其实就是跳海生还的宋丹萍，他被一归国医生救下，但医生将其当试验品加以改造，使丹萍的面貌更加丑陋，丹萍愤然离去，来到这里。不久，北伐开始，丹萍因从事革命工作被逮捕处以死刑。小霞先得知丹萍未死，后又知丹萍危在旦夕，心急如焚，一下子病倒。双目失明。后革命军攻进城中，小欧找到...
