何仙姑是八仙中唯一的女性，传说中她成仙后五色云随身缭绕。何琼儿（又名仙姑）少年聪颍，心地善良又通医术，太上老君认为她是渡化成八仙的好人选，于是赠《真经三百》，希望她多多研读，轻者可消灾避难，重者可得道成仙。琼儿苦读，忽然门外大火，她将《真经三百》抛入空中，刹那雷声大作下起倾盆大雨灭了大火。乡邻葛大宝母亲得了一种大肚子的怪病，琼儿治好了她的病。仙姑的名字就这样传开了。蔡、何两家从小指腹为婚，蔡太史中途悔婚，如今又强逼琼仙姑与子成婚，仙姑不肯被打入大牢。此时女皇武则天正要找仙姑求容颜永驻之妙药，知道...
