本片讲述一班戒酒者，在时代广场的一间教堂畅谈自己的遭遇，占美是第一个出场的人物，他把自己如何堕入吸毒及酗酒深渊的经过一一娓娓道来，与会者亦深受感动，嘉露、慧翠、雪儿……逐一步上讲坛，在众人面前细诉前尘。而占美在叙述完毕后随即离开教堂，习惯的使然令他不自觉地步入酒吧，企图再一次地一醉解千愁，他的行为正好推翻自己在教堂内的见证，占美的意志与欲望正展开强烈斗争，究竟谁胜谁负呢？...
