电影介绍
Chinese-Australian filmmaker Vee Shi grew up in China and has been on his own since the age of 12 while his parents worked overseas. When his father suffers a stroke, the burden of care falls on his mother, who has long wanted to leave their unhappy marriage, and his sister, a single mother struggling to make ends meet. Feeling powerless and disconnected, Vee turns to the only way he knows how to reconnect with his family-by making a film with them, and about them. Time and Tide blurs the line between documentary and fiction, offering an intimate and unflinching portrait of a multi-generational Chinese family, grappling with aging parents, past traumas, the weight of familial responsibilities, and the unfairness faced by those left behind.
